To the Top, Paris

Published Monday, 30 April 2012 by Sydney Sunny

Eiffel Tower

I finished my classes early, so I was able to go to Paris on Friday to celebrate “les vacances”!  I put on my backpack full of lolita clothes, grabbed my big purse for survival, and put my camera on my neck. I was ready to spend a few blissful days hosted by Marine and her mother! I was so excited to spend time with my friends and learn more about French culture!

Yumi, me, "Ling", and Marine loving the Eiffel Tower!

Our first stop- Paris. Paris is where all the train line met. We decided to explore the Eiffel Tower. Even though the weather was crazy, sunshine, hot, cold, wind, rain, and finally hail, it was really neat to see Paris from the Eiffel Tower! Nothing is as romantic as looking down from the 2nd level at the best city in the world. It was also a nice hard workout for only 3 Euros!

So enjoy the pictures:

The famous Esplanade du Trocadero walk to the Eiffel Tower. However, I prefer coming from the Champs Mars.

I recommend not rushing to the Eiffel Tower first! You can see it anywhere from Paris. Rather, go when you have see most of the well known sites in Paris.

I found 5 Euros!

Goodbye Paris! Beautiful fields of yellow flowers (which is grown for Rapeseed oil).

Many more posts to come, but not about Paris!

With Sugar on Top, Paris

Published Saturday, 28 April 2012 by Sydney Sunny

The next day was sweeter then the next. I seem to crave food in Paris from all the walking around. In the morning Stephanie and I went to Starbucks right across the road and had tea and Matcha cake for breakfast. Dessert for breakfast!

We walked around for a long time. Stephanie took me off the main drag that I normally stay on to not get lost! We were soon in the Oprea area. We ending up in Junko, a Japanese bookstore. It was a bit pricey but I bought the Gothic and Lolita Bible v.43! I got it to remember all the releases by Baby while I was in Paris and for the wonderful patterns! We stayed a long time because the cute, cute things in the store!

Ladurée = sweets

Me in front of the shop's display for Hello Kitty!

Soon with hungry stomachs we came to the grand, sweet, and well known Ladurée! We had a lovely tea. I had a fresh tea , Cherie, and Stephanie had a spicy tea, Othello. We choose 4 macrons. We choose the seasonal ones, which are not normal in other shops. But, I got the Pistachio for my mom.  Also, Stephanie picked out her favorite pastry to split with me! I have no idea what the name of it was, but it was rose favored.

4 macrons: Top: Cherry // Middle (left to right): Banana- Chocolat, Salty Caramel // Bottom:

Rose flavored pastry! I think, I ate the rose petals!

Stephanie with all the sweets! Look at that smile!

We had to leave after walking around the streets of Paris again. We both had sugar crashes, and mixed with the lack of sleep can be devastating!

Thank you Stephanie! We must do it again before you leave!

Much Love till the next post!

The Paris Jungle

Published Thursday, 26 April 2012 by Sydney Sunny

The next day, Stephanie and I headed out to find my family! My family came for a day in Paris for the vacation. Agathe just came back from Tokyo, too! I was so happy to see them again. It was like Christmas again!

Vegan Folie's

We went to Vegan Folie’s. It is a rare little vegan cupcake place! The cups looked so cute and well made! Some where bight colored, others rich and dark, and others sparkled! The cupcakes had funny names: Choc Norris, Johnny Nutsville, John Lemon, and Austin Flower, to name a few. The cupcakes were not just sweet but there is also savory too! Plus, scrumptious looking brownies and cheesecakes.

Agathe with all the yummy vegan cupcakes!

Agathe bought 10 cupcakes! After a Japanese buffet lunch, I choose Choc Norris. It was chocolate with vegan “Nutella”.  Whoa, it was amazing! Also, I had a few fingers of Austin Flower’s purple lavender icing.

Cupcakes ready to be eaten!

My vegan cupcake, Choc Norris - no regret.

Afterwards, Agathe, Stephanie, and I explored the jungle in Paris. Do you not know about the jungle of Paris?
Well it is called Le Jardin des Plantes. We went deep into the jungle greenhouse, full of plants from all around the world.

My family said goodbye in the Metro. Stephanie then took me to Concord to shop at a British book store and have tea at Mariage Freres at the Louvre. And again, we stayed up very late! haha!

Till next time! One more day in Paris with Stephanie!

Always Paris

Published Wednesday, 25 April 2012 by Sydney Sunny

What am I going to do when I can no longer go to Paris on the weekends? I look forward to Paris during the whole week. It is a usual sight to see me walking to the train station on a Saturday morning.
One weekend I stayed in Paris for two nights at Stephanie’s apartment.  She is done with classes, and I just had one more week. So we where ready to explore!

Stephanie and I met with Yumi and walked to Baby the Stars Shine Bright. We stayed for a long time talking and looking at every detail of the store. Yumi and Stephanie wanted me to try on something. I had no objection to this proposal! I tried on Lady’s Victorian Afternoon square neck blouse in black and Pas de Deux in the blue moon Odette jumper skirt in black with the matching bow. I am proud of the coordination!

Baby the Stars Shine Bright's Pas de Deux in the blue moon Odette.

I have fallen in love with Pas de Deux in the blue moon Odette. It is really a nice print, and the jumpskirt has lovely details! But, I didn’t buy it. Instead, I bought new socks. I have love affairs with socks.

We also went to Boddywood/Angelic Pretty. Sadly, Angelic Pretty no longer has a special room. They have made the right back corner Angelic Pretty’s home. I have to say, the slection is just not as great as Baby’s, so I never find anything to fall in love with. However, Boddywood has all sorts of other goodies! I bought a Swimmer Wallet (large for my passport) and Hello Kitty vs. Samipoo by Baby the Stars Shine Bright paper.

After stoping in another shop we were famished from shopping so much! We walked to American Breakfast. It is a cute American style dinner. Apparently, they are popular in Paris. I ordered a nice vegetarian soy burger with a green salad! YUM!

Then, Stephanie showed Yumi and me some shops in Paris! I really like a shop called Lollipops. The bags and shoes were really cute and not a million Euros! Also, the huge vintage store called, Hippie Market. It was really nice. The clothes were well washed and in nice contition! Stephanie found wonderful white boots that fit! Lucky!

Hippie Market is a MUST! I hope to go again!

Finally, we made our way to the movies to see Titanic 3D! I don’t think the 3D was worth it, but I enjoyed seeing the film on the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s sinking. I really did not like the French movie theater. The bathroom had only 3 toilets, and the theater was burning up! Horrible!

We returned really late, and Stephanie and I talked almost all night! Oh la la!

The shopping of the day: Hello vs. Samipoo paper, Titanic 3D ticket with glasses, Baby the Stars Shine Bright OTK logo glitter socks, and a Swimmer wallet.

My weekend doesn’t stop there! I had such a wonderful time the next day too!
Till my next post!

Des Nageoires et Des Ailes

Published Tuesday, 10 April 2012 by Sydney Sunny

Photo taken at Versailles.

Of Fins and Wings

The fish want the wings of the bird. As the sirens, fish come to the surface. But the sirens look at men and fish prefer to watch birds. Kiss the air, they speak of their wish to fly far from the lake water. The lake is full of mud and trash. In this lake, the fish must swim all the time. However, the sky is big and blue. This is perfect in the eyes of the fish. The birds nest and they sleep well.
And as the sirens, the fish are easily deceived. Fish are a witch who tells them,
<< Give me your lungs, and I’ll give you a magic hook. >>
The end is not often happy. Fish out of water and they can not breathe. They often die trying to be a bird with wings.
But there was fish that live well. They are happy with and they are happy to swim with fins. They know they are fish and other birds are.
Be happy with who you are. Do not be in hell for having fins.

The Bunnies and the Eggs say Happy Easter

Published Sunday, 8 April 2012 by Sydney Sunny

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11:25-26

I bought this stuffed Lindt bunny because I can never eat a really chocolate bunny! I can only eat the eggs!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…”1 Peter 1:3

Baby the Star Shine Bight's mini mini bag. She carries my metro tickets!

“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” Philippians 3:10-12

My Bunny bag from Baby the Stars Shine Bright has seen both Christmas and Easter in France. Very special!!

“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:8-11

My tiny Tea Bunny. He is very sweet!

“And he [angel] said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.” Mark 16:6

This is the Egg Princess my friend gave me from Studio Ghibli from her trip to Tokyo. She was the star of the short film shown at the museum only! I think she is perfect for Easter!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.” John 3:16-17

Today, I have dresses up in my new Baby the Stars Shine Bright “Easter” dress – Dessert OP in Pink and later I plan to clean my room as spring is a nice time to clean more! ❤

Have a wonderful Easter!

Tim Burton in Paris

Published Saturday, 7 April 2012 by Sydney Sunny

I went to Paris on one of the first spring days in France. Met with Tim and had a few bubble teas together.
Joking.

Around Paris there are signed of the exposition on the ground.

Instead, I met with some of my good friends- dressed up- to see the Tim Burton Exposition in Paris! It is an exposition that has been around all of North America’s big cities and now it has made its way to Europe with its first stop in Paris! Lucky me!

No Pictures allowed inside: from latimesblog.com

I was glad to go into this crazy world by the genius Tim Burton. I have to say he is a creepy mind, and I am often scared by some of his dark things, but nevertheless he is a genius of our times.
I always love look at artist’s sketches.  It is like reading a diary of their personal ideas. Along with the funny, creepy, silly, wild, and crazy sketches, the exposition had movie conceptions, ideas, dolls, and props. I enjoyed these too. Again, seeing the raw materials outside of the screen makes the movies seem like history. Even in the middle of the crazy world and mind of Tim Burton, I learned about how Tim grew up, his schooling, and his career.
It was a wonderful visit! It wish I had more energy to stay longer and fight the people! but we had more things to do that day!

We are modeling our cute outfits in front of the Tim Burton sign.( Credit to Marine)

Next we went to Baby the Stars Shine Bright! I was very good and didn’t spend a dime! I did, however, fall deeply in love with a jumpskirt, called Florence Rose, and a blouse with long sleeves.

The Perfect Florence Rose jumper skirt (credit to Megu)

Marine bought a new jumerskirt! It is so pretty with a lot of detail! I have seen it in the store and never really looked at it. But, on Marine it fits like a glove! It is so pretty!

Here is everyone!! Megu, Me, Ling, Claire, and Marine in her new dress!

And the day would not be complete if we didn’t celebrate with a visit to Princess Crepe for a sweet crepe!

We are at Princess Crepe, and I am the last one to finish!

For that night, I stayed at Marine’s boyfriend’s house. It was fun to have dinner with Marine, Nicolas, and Nicolas’s father and watch the French Voice. I really liked stepping into a French home and peeking into how they live. They were very nice to let me stay!

The next morning, we woke up to go to Chinatown! Till next time!!
